Detroit Michigan – WoodWing is sponsoring the Tablet Publishing Workshop Tour – an intensive two-day session that will take place in cities around the country throughout 2011. The Workshop Tour kicks off on April 14-15 in Columbus Ohio followed by a stop in Washington D.C. on April 21-22. A complete list of workshop locations and dates is available at www.woodwing.com
Geared toward publishers and designers the Tablet Publishing Workshop will show the participants how easy it is to create a digital publication for the iPad or other tablet platforms.
"In just two days we ll take the attendees through the entire process from start to finish" said Shawn Duffy Managing Director of WoodWing USA. "They ll create an entire digital publication from scratch using WoodWing s Tablet Publishing Solution. Some of the most popular magazine titles in the world are being published to tablets using WoodWing — everything from Time and Sports Illustrated to Better Homes and Gardens and Parents. Those attending the workshop will see how easy it is to do the same thing.
Duffy said that workshop participants will learn how to create horizontal and vertical layouts using InDesign templates. They ll add multimedia elements such as videos and slideshows and will learn how to export existing files into the publication using WoodWing s Dossiers tool. They will also hear how they can publish on various tablet devices in a very efficient workflow.
Cost of the two-day session is $999 per person which includes lunch on both days. Registration can be done online at www.woodwing.com where also the technical requirements for the workshop are listed including what software participants need to pre-install on their laptop before the session.
"Tablet publishing isn t the wave of the future it s the wave of the present. Duffy said. Any magazine publisher who isn t offering a tablet edition is losing opportunities and revenue. WoodWing is the industry leader in this market and this workshop is the best way to find out everything publishers need to know in just two days.
