The winners in the 2009 EPpy Awards were announced during the annual Interactive Newspaper Conference and Trade Show in New Orleans. Editor & Publisher and Mediaweek magazines sponsor the annual national competition. was named the winner as Best Sports Web Site with more than 1 million unique monthly visitors.

According to Editor & Publisher the 2009 EPpy Awards mark the 14th consecutive year of the program which honors the best Web sites in the media world including newspapers TV/cable radio and magazines. Nearly 400 entries were submitted for this year’s competition which were evaluated by nearly 50 judges.
