Resolute Forest Products Update on Southern Orders

July 27, 2012

Article by: Domtar/Resolute Forest Products

The sudden shut of the SP Dublin mill has created a sudden influx of orders for our 3 southern mills for the month of August and possibly September.

One future situation which could impact to what degree we can assist these other customer s orders in August and September is Phase 1 our of $32M quality improvement project at Augusta. Our #2 paper machine will be down September 10-24th as we install a new state-of-the-art headbox. This capital project will limit our order flexibility during September to one machine at Augusta. FYI Phase 2 on PM1 will be in 1Q13.

Therefore we are asking all of our southern mill customers to enter their orders as far in advance as possible preferably through October 31st. You can ask your customer service rep for a LDC or "Last Date of Change" and they will call you 2-3 weeks prior to the order going into production. You will then have the opportunity to change roll sizes increase decrease or cancel the order.

By entering your orders well in advance you will be helping us with our goal to optimize our planning and production process to insure we meet all of your newsprint delivery requirements.

Please call me if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you for your continued support
