Quipp Signs Merger Agreement With Illinois Tool Works
On March 26 2008 the Board of Directors of Quipp Inc. unanimously approved a Merger Agreement with Illinois Tool Works Inc. The transaction is expected to close in late spring or early summer of this year.
Following the announcement Michael Kady Quipp’s President and Chief Executive Officer stated that “This combination will result in an organization that features one of the best known brand names in the newspaper industry coupled with the human and financial resources of an enormously successful multi-billion dollar corporation. Customers will benefit from improved service and expanded product offerings as the relationship between Quipp and ITW matures.”
When asked what changes could be expected in the short term Mr. Kady responded that “Right now it’s business as usual. Even after the deal closes most changes will be transparent to our customers as they will involve modifications of business practices and procedures designed to improve efficiencies in Miami. Customers will still contact the same sales organization and parts and service departments that they have trusted in the past.”

Rede Anhanguera de Comunicacao (RAC) which prints Correio Popular & Diario do Povo in Campinas purchased thru Cia T-Janer a Quipp Model 500 Stacker to install in their Campinas plant.

Quipp announces the sale of five Quipp Model 501 Stackers to The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. These five stackers are in addition to the two Model 501 Stackers that The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel installed in 2007 in their plant in Milwaukee WI. The equipment will be installed this Summer.
Quipp is happy to announce the sale a Quipp Twin-Trak Conveyor System and three Quipp Model 501 Stackers to the Press-Enterprise in Riverside CA. The system will be installed in the next few months.
The Press-Enterprise a Belo newspaper has been a satisfied Quipp customer since 1987. They have purchased Quipp Twin-Trak Belt Conveyor Systems for their three press-lines and several Quipp Stackers Quipp Wrappers and Quipp Floor Conveyors.
In April 2004 The Press-Enterprise purchased their first two (2) Quipp Packman Packaging Systems and most recently in September 2006 they purchased their third Quipp Packman System for their Sunday operations.

Twenty-eight Stream Aligner kits for their existing Quipp Stream Aligners
One hundred twelve horizontal module kits for their existing Quipp Twin-Trak Belt Conveyor lines and Special Spacing Modification Kits to handle Light Products.
