News & Tech took the wraps off a redesigned Web site sporting a new look and features that include movable blocks of content commenting and a new electronic edition.
The new site launched on Thursday Oct. 1 2009 using TownNews.com’s BLOX Content Management System. The site includes top stories as well as content from News & Tech’s popular weekly electronic newsletter Dateline.
All content on the site is tagged allowing content to appear in multiple sections without the need to duplicate the entry. Keyword tagging via BLOX also makes content easier for News & Tech’s readers to find relevant content on the site.
BLOX CMS is designed to allowed editors to easily move add and program blocks of tagged content anywhere on the Web site.
“TownNews.com made the transition very easy ” said Mary L. Van Meter News & Tech’s publisher. “BLOX allows our staff to easily update content and allowed for a more sleek design than we previously had.”
A new Editor’s Blog the EB will feature comment and analysis from News & Tech editors and featured columnists. Visitors can log in to the site to join the discussion on the EB or on any article for the site.

News & Tech’s Buyer’s Guide is more accessible than ever before. Posted using TownNews.com’s e-Edition software it’s easy to navigate and includes clickable links. A new feature Resources includes an updated Plant Closure and Consolidation list and other content.
