Product marketing manager will demo groundbreaking Adobe DPS at San Francisco chapter meeting

Jenkintown PA (January 20 2011) — Managing Editor Inc. (MEI) an Adobe premier development partner and a leading provider of software solutions for the publishing industry today announced that Product Marketing Manager Brett Kizner will be taking the stage to present innovative tablet-publishing tools at this month’s Bay Area InDesign User Group meeting. The chapter’s first get-together of 2011 takes place Wednesday Jan. 26 at 6:30 p.m. in the San Francisco Adobe offices.

Kizner’s demonstration will cover a range of topics regarding efficient multichannel publishing. Specifically he will highlight how to incorporate editors into the design and layout processes with Adobe® InCopy® and InDesign® and how to produce rich immersive digital editions for the iPad and other tablet devices using the new Adobe Digital Publishing Suite. The presentation will also illustrate how users can turbo-charge their production environments with a powerful managed workflow and the vjoon K4™ Cross-Media Publishing Platform.

Kizner recently spoke at the Washington D.C. IDUG chapter’s November meeting where his presentation drew an impressive amount of positive feedback and interest. He is looking forward to appearing in front of more InDesign users this month.

“This is a great hands-on opportunity to spread the word about DPS and show designers the power they have in creating unique tablet experiences with it ” Kizner said. “These users recognize the demand for more content more often across as many output channels as possible. My goal is to provide them with the best tools to fulfill that need enhanced by intelligent workflow management.”

Kizner is a Pratt Institute graduate with a BFA in Media Arts. Before joining MEI he worked across editorial design and production teams at McGraw Hill Education. His experience includes deploying and training hundreds of users on InCopy and managing the rollout of K4 at the company’s Macmillan division. As a trainer at MEI Kizner managed projects for clients such as Martha Stewart Abercrombie & Kent Congressional Quarterly and the Christian Science Publishing Society. He currently specializes in product evangelism helping customers realize the potential of their technology and collaborating with Adobe to roll out the Digital Publishing Suite.

The first Adobe InDesign User Group formed in November 2001 when members of the New York publishing workforce who were interested in InDesign started gathering to discuss the software and its applications. Since then IDUG meetings have become an important venue for spreading news about InDesign and for users to learn techniques tips and tricks to keep their skills sharp. Today the worldwide IDUG community includes more than 68 chapters in 29 countries with more than 41 000 members. Membership in InDesign user groups is free.

The meeting will be held at Adobe San Francisco 601 Townsend St. It is free for registered members of the Bay Area chapter but pre-registration is required. Visit www.indesignusergroup.com to sign up today.
