The year 2008 saw a large number of newspaper companies and commercial web operations that specialize in newsprint products making the move to Screen CTP. As a result these organizations are enjoying greater quality speed and efficiency thanks to the PlateRite News 2000 thermal platesetter.
Screen (USA) is working to make it easier and more affordable for PAGE members to experience the benefits of high-quality CTP. Screen is offering a $1 500 rebate on purchases of PlateRite News 2000 devices in Q1 2009. The cash rebate takes effect when five (5) or more PAGE member companies purchase PlateRite News 2000 units during the January-through-March 2009 period. Qualified purchases from end-user companies can be made directly through Screen (USA) or through a Screen equipment dealer.
The PlateRite News 2000 series is available in four models specifically aimed at newspaper printers looking for greater choice and flexibility.
On the upper end of the production spectrum the PlateRite News 2000S+ delivers 106 plates per hour. Smaller newspaper printers find the entry-level PlateRite News 2000LE to be the ideal unit for the size of their operations. The PlateRite News 2000LE produces 26 plates per hour. It can be easily upgraded to higher plate-imaging speeds.
Users of the entire PlateRite News 2000 range can choose from four plate-loading options: feed tray semiautomatic loader (no interleaf removal) single-cassette autoloader (interleaf removal) and multiple-cassette autoloader (maximum of three cassettes and interleaf removal).
The PlateRite News 2000 series is supported by the Trueflow Rite News automated workflow system. Trueflow Rite News is designed for newspaper production and provides the necessary functionality for CTP output of plates in a newspaper environment.
