PAGE: Newsprint Transition

August 1, 2020

Article by: PAGE Cooperative

PAGE is committed to saving members additional dollars. To that end we have made a decision to terminate our contract with Cox Newsprint Supply (CNS) effective on July 31, 2020. This decision will save PAGE money on negotiation fees and of course, any PAGE income that is collected and not used for expense offset, will be returned to PAGE members via year-end patronage in relation to member’s overall sales volume.

Beginning on August 1, 2020, PAGE leadership will negotiate directly with all newsprint mills. PAGE has very strong purchasing volume especially in relation to industry trends and this makes us confident we can secure the best possible pricing for our members.

Should anyone outside of PAGE (mills, brokers, third-party buyers) contact you directly about newsprint pricing, be sure to contact Gary Blakeley. And of course, if you have any questions or concerns, Gary welcomes and asks for your phone calls. Gary may be reached at 800-468-9568 x196.

PAGE has made tremendous progress over this past year and we are excited for this next step. As we make this transition to independent price negotiation with our newsprint suppliers, it will be key that we continue to collaborate and remain as one cooperative – one buying group.
